Introduction of Fung Yuen Culture and Nature Guided Tour

​

  • Aims to educate visitors to understand the ecological characteristics of Hong Kong and the threats facing through ecological observation, thus to trigger a deeper interest in ecology and to foster positive attitudes and actions towards ecological conservation.

  • Include visit to Fung Yuen Nature and Culture Education Centre, Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve and its neighboring protected area.

  • The guided tour is organized by Environmental Association and led by experienced eco-tour interpreters.

  • Ecology of Hong Kong will be introduced along the walking route such as butterflies, the characteristics of animals and plants, the cultural history of Fung Yuen, as well as the threats to ecological conservation and its significance.

 

No. of Visitor

  • The public may apply “Fung Yuen Culture and Nature Guided Tour” on behalf of schools or nonprofit organizations.

  • Each interpreter leads no more than 25 visitors each time to avoid disturbance to the wildlife.

  • Group size between 26 to 50 persons will be divided into two groups and lead by two interpreters respectively.

  • Each group should not exceed 50 visitors each time.

 

Duration

  • Approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, ecological workshop and guided tour are included.

  • Morning session 10:00-12:30 / Afternoon session 2:00-4:30

 

Admission Fee

  • The fee is HK$80 per person, same price for adult and children. (free for age under 3)

  • Accompanied leaders and teachers are required to pay the admission fee.

    • The fee includes instructor fee and admission to Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve.

    • Travel expenses, personal insurance and other unspecified charges are not included.

  • Submit the form to Fung Yuen Nature and Culture Education Centre: Fax : 2690 3438

    • Successful applicants will receive notifications.

  • Full payment shall be paid within 7 working days upon acceptance of application, otherwise the related application
    will be cancelled.

  • Confirmation notice will be sent by email upon the receipt of payment in 7 days.

  • Please bring along the confirmation notice to our centre for registration on the day of visit.

 

Application Notes

  • Application for guided tour must be submitted at least 1 month in advance.

  • We only accept applications for tour within 2 months of tour date.

  • Note: Fung Yuen Butterfly Reserve is private land; any unauthorized entry will be subject to further legal
    action.

  • Upon the acceptance of application (except for special weather conditions and apply only on the day of visit
    with typhoon signal no.3 or above is hoisted; Red or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued), visiting
    date, time or payment are not subject to change or refund.
